This is an arts integration lesson that integrates a writing component of Language Arts. The lesson was derived from famous artist's Marius Valdes workshop at Miami University. Students create these three-dimensional creatures out of Sculpey that they then use for inspiration for a narrative story about their creatures. Their narrative stories are written out on paper with illustration boxes where so students two-dimensionally illustration their stories.

Overall, I think that our mask making lesson at the Girl Scouts' Leadership Conference in Blue Ash, OH ran smoothly for being most of our first times teaching. We were able to adapt to last minute issues with technological difficulties and really deliver our lesson about making masks that in some way reflect your inner self. Our lesson plan focused on vision, inspiration, and time management and I think the girl scouts gained a better understanding of these three components through our lesson. The girl scouts were extremely receptive to what we were teaching them and they showed full understanding of the purpose behind our lesson because of the way their masks encompassed their inner selves.
